Corporate chat for a remote team

Remote teams depend on written context. A work messenger should support asynchronous collaboration rather than demand constant presence.

01

Structure information with channels

Use a general channel for announcements, project groups for decisions, and direct conversations for brief clarification. Clear names and purpose reduce repeated questions.

Read receipts and presence should be workspace policy rather than tools for permanent surveillance.

02

Treat reconnect as normal

After a disconnect, a client fetches durable events from its cursor, closes gaps, and only then attaches live WebSocket delivery. Redis is not the sole history.

Typing is ephemeral and may be lost. Messages and read state require a durable source of truth.

03

Manage multiple devices

A remote employee may use a home Windows PC and Android device. The company sees both and applies the same membership policy.

After revocation, new credentials are denied. Offline cache opens only within the approved security lease.
