How to move a team away from personal messengers
Migration is an organizational project. A new tool cannot help if work decisions continue in old personal groups.
Define the transition boundary
Choose a date after which new work discussions start only in the corporate workspace. Assign owners for departments and channels.
Do not bulk-import sensitive history without retention and legal analysis. Starting with a clean boundary may be safer.
Run a short pilot
Start with a small team and verify Windows, Android, notifications, offline reconnect, and device revocation. Collect user questions before a broad rollout.
Onboarding should explain daily actions rather than internal architecture: sign in, find a channel, send a file, and request help.
Close the parallel process
After launch, define where work decisions are made. Old groups become read-only or are closed through company policy.
Offboarding and lost devices must be handled through Tallkers or the new environment will not become the source of corporate access.
