How to organize a corporate messenger
A good rollout starts with a clear team structure and process owners, not with one hundred channels.
Choose owners and administrators
The owner is responsible for subscription, security, and critical deletion. Administrators handle everyday onboarding and devices within granted capabilities.
Do not give permanent elevated rights to every manager. Roles should match real responsibility.
Create a minimal structure
Begin with a general channel, a few departments, and project groups. Names should explain purpose without internal jargon.
Use private channels only when membership is truly restricted. Excessive privacy makes ownership and knowledge reuse harder.
Agree on device and deletion policy
The team should understand notification previews, downloaded files, offline access, and the response to a lost device.
Emergency purge does not replace normal retention. The most destructive actions need recent authentication and explicit confirmation.
